DOH Speaks on Alert Level in PH amid the COVID-19 Pandemic
DOH – The Department of Health announced the COVID alert level in Metro Manila and several other areas in the Philippines.
The Philippines is still in the midst of a fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. There are still restrictions to prevent the spread of the virus. The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently warned countries several times that the pandemic is “nowhere near over” and is not over anywhere if it is not over somewhere.
There are new strains of COVID that caused an increase in the cases in several countries abroad. The WHO is expecting a rise in the cases in nations in Europe amid the loose community quarantine measures. The international body reminds countries not to be complacent as the pandemic is not over.
In PH, the national government has ordered the Department of Health (DOH) the development of a new classification scheme amid the COVID-19 pandemic by August. Currently, the alert level system remains.
