PAGASA Says Habagat to Bring Cloudy & Rainy Conditions Over Entire PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the habagat will bring cloudy to rainy conditions over the entire country.

On Monday (July 18, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Southwest Monsoon will be affecting the whole country. It will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

“Ngayong araw inaasahan natin ang maulan na panahon dahil sa habagat o southwest monsoon. ‘Yung southwest monsoon, ay nakakaapekto sa buong bansa,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will experience similar weather condition.

The Southwest Monsoon/Localized thunderstorms will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet and Aurora.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have the same weather condition.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during times of moderate to heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the northern and western sections of Luzon will be moderate. The remaining parts of the country will have a slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
