Jodi Sta Maria talked about her new movie project
Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta Maria revealed the reason for accepting the offer to be part of 2nd Miracle in Cell No. 7.
Jodi has been doing remarkable roles for many years already. This helped establish her name in the Philippine entertainment industry as one of the versatile actresses of her generation.
In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, the actress revealed that she was initially planning to take a break from acting after a busy year.
However, a new movie project was offered to her, and it was the sequel to Miracle in Cell No. 7, released in 2019, which is the Pinoy version of the hit Korean film with the same title.
This year, Jodi Sta Maria has done three movies already: “Midnight Girls,” “Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon,” and the upcoming “Edjop.” A new one has been added: 2nd Miracle in Cell No. 7, which is part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2026.
In this movie, she will play Angela, the wife of Lito, played by veteran actor Aga Muhlach, and mother of Yesha, played by child star Xia Vigor.
“This project came as a sweet surprise. Napag-usapan ng management ko na I think this year quota na ako sa projects na nagawa ko,” Jodi said, stressing that she wanted to take a rest.
However, after reading the script and being pitched the project, she immediately decided she wanted to do it. For her, she could still squeeze in another project before the year ends.
Previously, it was revealed that Jodi Sta Maria was Aga Muhlach’s personal choice for his leading lady. The veteran actor said that if it will not be Jodi, then it is better not to do the movie. Knowing this, Jodi could not help but feel honored.
