The letter went viral and Leon resorted to posting it online because it is what his father has been doing ever since in calling them out. Such calls out, to them, sometimes, have words that destroy them, which he believes but for the longest time, they chose to be silent. This is the first and only time that Leon finally spoke about him publicly.

Leon spoke not just for himself but for his sisters as well. He stood up for them and stressed in his letter:

“It’s not that we don’t want to talk to you, but the few times that we do to resolve the issues, you communicate by shouting, cursing, and using hurtful words that traumatize us.”

People online castigated the comedian for being the one who took family matters online. But despite these negative comments, he shared an open letter to his children amid all the issues.

He said in his letter:

To be your father is the greatest honor I have received. It allowed me to touch the grace of God even for a moment and to see my love made flesh. I have regretfully made mistakes in my life. I may not have been there for you but I always had you in my heart.

Sometimes in life there are things that we will never understand why it happened.
In the end, I regret all the moments I let slip by. I regret all the times I hid my feelings from you. If I could have but one wish. I would love to spend some time with you. After all, there is not much more to life than that.

Leon, in his letter, calmly handled the matter with grace. If he had been rough and rude, it would have defeated his desire to take things in peace and in the healthiest way.

The calling of Dennis to his three children with Marjorie Barretto rooted when neither of them greeted him on Father’s Day.
