Fans of GMA’s Wish Ko Lang demanded that the show should return to its original format that was focused on wish-granting.

The said show first aired in 2002 and was hosted by now-Kapamilya anchor Bernadette Sembrano. It was a public service drama anthology program of the Kapuso network. The show took a break in February 2020 but returned in July. It is currently being hosted by Vicky Morales.

Just recently, Wish Ko Lang trended on Twitter and it is because fans of the show aired their dismay. Netizens expressed on the micro-blogging social media platform that the show’s original format is much better than the recent episodes with intimate scenes.

There were also netizens who looked back on their younger years as fans of the show. Some pointed out that the show has been a part of their family bonding moment because of its wholesome theme but now, it is far from that.

Many netizens also said that the wish granting theme of the show was gone already, which was the core of the program years ago. A netizen shared a screenshot of the show’s teaser. “2002 pa pala Wish Ko Lang?? Bale grade 2 ako nun. Ang vivid ng memory ko about this show kasi ito pinapanood naming buong family every Sabado tapos madalas nagluluto mommy ko nun ng turon or kamote kasi sabay sya sa oras ng merienda,” a netizen wrote on Twitter.

One netizen even shared an old episode of the show during the time when Bernadette Sembrano was still the host. Basically, the previous episodes featured the lives or life stories of the recipients and the actual wish granting.

Some netizens also said that Wish Ko Lang is now getting on the level of other TV series with intimate scenes which shocked them.
