PAGASA Says Ridge of HPA to Bring Hot & Humid Weather Condition Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a high pressure area will bring hot and humid weather condition over some parts of the country.

On Thursday (June 16, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ridge of a high pressure area will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Ridge of High Pressure Area is extending over Northern and Central Luzon while the Easterlies will be affecting the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over entire Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Northern Samar as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience similar weather condition.

Pagasa, weather specialist Grace Castañeda said that the remaining parts of the country will have hot and humid weather condition except for isolated rains from the afternoon to evening.

“Ngayong araw, ine-expect pa rin natin ‘yong medyo mainit na panahon at ‘yong mas mataas na tsansa ng pag-ulan, pagkulog, at pagkidlat sa dakong hapon at gabi, diyan ‘yan sa buong bahagi ng bansa,” Castañeda said.

The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected areas particularly in residential areas near mountains and bodies of water to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
