Cops Arrest Cigarette Vendor For Selling Illegal Drugs in EDSA
QUEZON CITY – A cigarette vendor has been caught while selling illegal drugs along the portion of EDSA at a footbridge in Ermin Garcia Ave.
Nowadays, the proliferation of illegal drugs has been one of the major problems not only in the Philippines but also in various countries all around the world. It causes a surge in the rate of criminality in the country.
The Philippine government and the police authorities have been imposing stricter policy to eradicate illegal drugs in the country but there are still some individuals who were making new strategies to proliferate illegal substances.
The police authorities received a report regarding the selling of illegal drugs under the footbridge in Ermin Garcia Ave in Quezon City. The police officers immediately launched a buy-bust operation to arrest the suspect.
According to the police investigation, the 59-year-old vendor is placing the illegal drugs in water bottles or packs of cigarettes. The suspect has also admitted his mistake and confessed that he was selling drugs for three months.
“Itong pagbebentahan ngayon na nangyayari sinasabay nila yung pagbili ng drugs sa tubig o yosi,” the cop said.
The vendor explained that he engaged in proliferation of illegal drugs to support the financial necessities of his family. He is earning P800 from P1, 500 capital. “Pangangailangan lang po ng mga anak ko, nag-aaral po sila siyempre kailangan ng pang-allowance nila,” the culprit said.
The drug suspect expressed his willingness to face charges and pay for his mistakes. The cops will also launch further investigations to locate the source of illegal drugs,
