Doc Willie Ong Breaks Silence on Issue Involving Mayor Isko Moreno, Vice Pres. Leni Robredo

DOC WILLIE ONG – The vice-presidential bet expressed his disagreement with the call of Mayor Isko Moreno for Vice President Leni Robredo to withdraw.

Recently, the social media platforms were flooded with reactions to the call of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno for Vice Pres. Leni Robredo to withdraw from the upcoming May 2022 Elections. The Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer made the call during a press conference held by three (3) presidential bets on Easter Sunday at the Manila Peninsula Hotel in Makati City.

Mayor Isko called for Vice Pres. Robredo to make the “supreme sacrifice” and “be a hero” by withdrawing from the presidential election. Publicly, he also told the Vice President that what she is allegedly doing is not effective against the frontrunner of the election race and must give way for the other presidential bets.

The statement of the Manila Mayor sparked negative reactions from the netizens on social media. It did not sit well with the supporters of Vice Pres. Robredo who cited that she is ahead of him in survey results.

Following the press con, several individuals who were present at the event distanced themselves from the call of Mayor Isko Moreno for Vice Pres. Leni Robredo to withdraw from the presidential election. The Manila Mayor’s running-mate, Aksyon Demokratiko vice-presidential bet Doc Willie Ong, also disagreed with the said withdrawal stressing that, for him, all the candidates must push through their bid.

According to the cardiologist, he was only present at the event to reiterate his stand that he will not withdraw from his vice-presidential candidacy. He also praised the stand of the Vice President on several national issues revealing they share the same stand. He cited that the Vice President is a lawyer and she is good.

Doc Willie Ong cites that both he and Mayor Isko Moreno were also previously called to withdraw their candidacies. According to him, he just kept quiet but he does not know how it was received on the side of the Manila Mayor. He stressed that he has no problem with any presidential candidate.
