High School Student Beaten Up by Fellow Minors After Refusing to Smoke Inside School Campus
A high school student from Basilan National High School was badly beaten by fellow students after he reportedly refused to smoke.
Recently, Lharry Ace Jr, a Facebook user, shared a video of a young man being mauled by a group of his fellow students inside the school campus. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media.
In the video, the victim can be seen getting punched, kicked, and elbowed repeatedly by two suspects. The attack showed no mercy, as he took hits to different parts of his body. To make things worse, one of the minors pulled out a knife and threatened to stab him.

Reports say the incident happened on June 25, 2025, but the victim’s father was only able to file a formal complaint on July 4, 2025, after the student had to be rushed to the hospital due to his injuries.
Initial treatment was given at a hospital in Isabela City, Basilan, but the victim was later transferred to Zamboanga City for better medical care. Authorities from the Police Regional Office 9 are now investigating the case and gathering evidence.
Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is now working with the school to provide counseling for the victims. The department is also planning proper programs to help the minors involved in the incident.

Authorities are now in the process of filing the necessary complaints against the two suspects to make sure they are held accountable. The community and school are hoping for justice while calling for stronger efforts to stop violence among students.
