Gas Stations to Impose Oil Price Rollback for Two Straight Weeks
FUEL PRICE ADJUSTMENT – An oil price rollback is expected to take effect on Tuesday (July 8, 2025) for two consecutive weeks.
Starting Tuesday, motorists can expect a bit of relief as fuel prices are set to drop for the second straight week. While the reductions offer some breathing room, they still don’t fully balance out the huge increases seen in previous months.
Several major fuel companies, including Shell, Seaoil, Caltex, Cleanfuel, and Petro Gazz, confirmed the new price adjustments effective at 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Petro Gazz, however, does not carry kerosene.

Here are the latest fuel price rollbacks:
- Gasoline: P0.70 per liter
- Diesel: P0.10 per liter
- Kerosene: P0.80 per liter
Last week’s rollback was more significant, with gasoline prices dropping by P1.40 per liter, diesel by P1.80, and kerosene by P2.20. But despite back-to-back decreases, prices are still higher compared to the start of the year.
In late June alone, fuel costs surged, with gasoline rising by P3.50, diesel by P5.20, and kerosene by P4.80 per liter.

The total reductions over the past two weeks have only slightly eased the burden. The net increase so far this year stands at P8.30 per liter for gasoline, P9.95 for diesel, and P1.05 for kerosene.
The rollback in global oil prices came after a ceasefire between Israel and Iran on June 24, which helped ease fears of supply disruptions. OPEC+ also announced plans to boost oil production by over half a million barrels per day starting in August.
However, experts warn that the price reduction may be short-lived. Ongoing trade issues, especially upcoming talks with the United States, could push prices back up soon. As of this writing, motorists are advised to take advantage of the lower prices while they last.
