Fire Hits Portion of Makati Commercial Building at Midnight

MAKATI COMMERCIAL BUILDING – A portion of a business district building in Makati City caught fire at midnight of April 19, 2022.

One of the incidents that can make a huge impact is fire. It can result in damage to properties and loss of lives. There were several times when fire incidents have left not only families homeless but as well as grieving over the loss of their loved ones.

A fire incident can happen anytime and anywhere – in a household, a commercial building, a vehicle, etc. It can be caused by a lot of factors with electric wirings and appliances or gadgets that are left on for several hours being the usual cause.

Recently, a fire incident took place in Makati City which is known as the prime business district of the country. A part of a Makati commercial building caught fire.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the fire hit a part of Makati’s commercial building at midnight. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported that the incident started on the 8th floor of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) located in the city’s business district at around 12:11 a.m.

Two (2) minutes past 2:00 o’clock in the morning, the authorities raised the 2nd alarm before declaring it under control and the fire was contained. Based on the report, the incident only hit a part of the building and the fire was immediately contained thus it did not reach the other floors of the 14-storey commercial building.

Reportedly, there were no other people inside the building except for the security guards when the fire happened. There are no reports of injuries due to the incident. The BFP is still investigating the cause of the incident and the estimated amount of damages.
