ETHEL BOOBA – Famous comedienne Ethel Booba opens up about her fear of commitment and why she’s not yet ready for it.
A well-loved comedienne and a famous vlogger, Ethel Booba is a favorite of many of us. She is now a mother and many have changed in her ways since she entered motherhood. She no longer has vices. She doesn’t smoke anymore and as for her drinking, she doesn’t do it anymore. Motherhood also taught her to have long patience. She knows herself, and before, she used to get annoyed easily.
And now, at 45 years old and despite being in a long-term relationship at present, her fear to jump into something such as a lifetime commitment is still there. She has this fear of commitment and because of this, she tends to discourage her partner from proposing.
Accordingly, there were instances that she caught him and his attempts but what she would always do is to deny at first glance. She shared, “Nabukayo. Actually, pinapasukat niya. ‘Kasya ba sa iyo ito?’ Alam ko yun, e. Sabi ko, ‘Ano ito? Bakit may ganito?’ ‘Binili ko,’ ganun. Bukelya ko na. ‘Sukat mo na kung kasya sa iyo.'”
What has always been stopping her from getting married is the attachment she’ll eventually grow in herself to that person. She’s come from a broken family and she has seen the devastation of being separated. She fears that the attachment will devastate her if they’ll decide to separate one day.
She’s even not sure yet if he is really the one for her. She still has doubts. She’s uncertain about a lot of things.
The comedienne quipped according to a report from PEP, “Hindi ko alam. Hindi rin ako puwedeng magsabi ng tapos. Kung siya na talaga, siya na. Nagka-baby kami, e. Hindi ko alam na sa kanya ako magkaka-anak.”
