Video of Teenager Who Falls from Amusement Park Ride Earns Reactions Online
A 14-year-old teenager from Missouri passed away after falling from an amusement park ride at Orlando’s tourist district.
On Friday (March 25, 2022), the young victim identified as Tyre Sampson from Missouri has visited popular Icon Park located in the city’s tourist district along International Drive of central Florida together with a friend’s family.
The latter choose to get on Orlando Free Fall ride, which is the world’s second tallest drop tower standing 430 feet high. Around 30 people can fit into the ride, which rotates as it rises to the top.
Unfortunately, Sampson fell from seat number 31, which resulted to the untimely death of the victim. The victim was rushed to the hospital but eventually passed away after suffering major injuries.
The Orange County Sheriff John Mina said that detectives will investigate the incident to find whether it was intentional or accidental. “It appears to be just a terrible tragedy, we will see moving forward what that results in,” Mina said.
However, the authorities did not reveal further details and information regarding the tragic accident.
A witness was also able to record the incident and posted it on social media. The video immediately spread like a wildfire online and garnered various reactions from the online community.
John Stine, the sales director of Slingshot Group who owns the rider claimed that the amusement park operate the ride with the safety precautions. The victim was secured in the seat, according to Stine.
“Yes (he was secured in the seat). That’s what we know at this time. So again, we operate the ride with all the safety precautions in mind and everything is in place and this is why we’re doing an investigation,” Stine said.
