In what seemed like an overnight turn of events, Mister Supranational Philippines 2024 Brandon Espiritu experienced a dramatic shift in public perception after a controversial social media comment sparked widespread backlash.

The issue began on June 10, 2026, when an Instagram exchange involving Brandon went viral. A netizen questioned why he and fellow Filipino-American pageant contestant Jether Palomo did not sing in Tagalog despite representing the Philippines in international male pageants.

Responding to the criticism, Brandon wrote: “tell that to all the front-runners for the Philippines. This country wouldn’t have a chance on the national stage without us halfies.”

Among the companies that took action was Longevity Labs PH, a health and wellness company in which Brandon held a minority stake. On June 11, 2026, the company released a statement announcing its decision to sever ties with him.

“We have seen Brandon Espiritu’s public apology, and we acknowledge it. It takes courage to own a mistake publicly, and we respect that he did.

“After careful consideration, we have made the decision to end our investor relationship with Brandon and are initiating the process to remove him from our cap table.

“Brandon held a minority stake in Longevity Labs. He had no management role, no operational involvement.

“Longevity Labs is a Filipino brand. We exist to serve the Filipino people and everyone who calls this place home.

“When the association between our name and those comments — however unintentional — causes our community pain, we have a responsibility to act.

“An apology, however sincere, does not undo that responsibility.”

Other businesses also distanced themselves from Brandon. Treehouse Poblacion stated that it was taking legal and corporate steps to formally end its association with the company, emphasizing that it does not tolerate discrimination and that Brandon was merely a passive investor with no role in daily operations.

Meanwhile, Anahao Siargao Resort expressed disappointment over the remarks, stressing that the statements did not reflect the company’s values. The resort reiterated its pride in its Filipino identity and reaffirmed its commitment to respecting Filipino culture, heritage, and people.
