What was the reaction of Isko Moreno to the BBM-PRRD meeting?
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was asked to react to the meeting that happened between his fellow presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos and President Rodrigo Duterte.
After the announcement that the ruling party PDP-Laban has endorsed the candidacy of Marcos, his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte was asked if there was a meeting that happened.
The vice-presidential candidate of the UniTeam confirmed that her running mate and her father met last weekend. Following this, Senator Bong Go, a close ally of the Chief Executive confirmed that there was indeed a meeting that happened between BBM and PRRD.
Communication Secretary Martin Andanar also vouched for this saying that the President and the aspiring president talked about the former’s achievements. It was said that PRRD also gave pieces of advice to Marcos
However, this does not mean that the President is already endorsing the UniTeam’s presidential bet. On Friday, during a campaign event, Mayor Isko Moreno reacted to this, based on the report by ABS-CBN reporter Bianca Dava.
“Good for Marcos. Good for Marcos kung nabigyan siya ng advice. How I wish nabigyan din ako ng advice kung paano Manalo,” the presidential bet of Aksyon Demokratiko said.
Despite not having the endorsement coming from political parties and local government officials, the Manila Mayor stressed the importance of having the heart of the “silent majority”.
“Remember, si Pangulong Duterte, walang governor, walang congressman, wala rin siyang local politicians, halos wala. Wala rin siya sa survey. Nang bumoto ang silent majority, the rest is history,” Mayor Isko Moreno said.
Meanwhile, in a previous interview, the Manila Mayor also reacted to the endorsement that BBM got from PDP-Laban. Moreno said that the UniTeam’s presidential bet is “very blessed.”
