Rappler shared on its Facebook account an article about this with this headline: “After dropping Lacson, ex-Duterte ally Alvarez endorses Robredo.”

The first paragraph of the article elaborated the headline. “Former Duterte ally Pantaleon Alvarez endorsed Vice President Leni Robredo in the President’s home region on Thursday, March 24, after his party dropped Senator Panfilo Lacson as presidential bet,” writer Mara Cepeda wrote.

The official Facebook account Senator Ping Lacson commented on the post of Rappler. “Nagresign hindi tinanggal. Mali yang balita mo Rappler,” the lawmaker commented.

Several netizens claimed that Rappler deleted the original post and shared the article again and so the comment of the Lacson was no longer there. However, netizens were able to secure their receipt with screenshots of the said comment of the lawmaker.

Meanwhile, Alvarez said that the reason Partido Reporma’s decision to endorse VP Leni Robredo was because of the result of the presidential surveys. However, Lacson said that the real reason was he was not able to provide the huge amount that the party was asking from him.

His chief of staff was asking for 800 million pesos additional funding which I honestly told him I cannot produce,” Senator Ping Lacson said, based on the report from Inquirer.
