Isko Moreno has this reaction to the decision of PDP-Laban to endorse his opponent
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said that former Senator Bongbong Marcos is “very blessed” to gain the endorsement from the ruling party PDP-Laban.
The faction of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) under Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi has formally endorsed the presidential candidacy of Marcos. However, Malacanang said that this does not necessarily reflect the decision of President Rodrigo Duterte.
On the other hand, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has confirmed that her father and Bongbong Marcos had a meeting last weekend.
In line with the decision of the PDP-Laban to endorse UniTeam’s presidential bet, Mayor Isko Moreno has this reaction, based on the report from Inquirer.
“He’s very blessed … as you’ve been telling me, he’s leading the surveys, and now he’s getting the help of a big party, good for him,” the presidential candidate of Aksyon Demokratiko said.
However, the Manila Mayor stressed that this will not hinder him to continue his campaign. He said that he will still go to the people and make the public understand the reason why he wants to be the next president.
When asked about the other PDP-Laban faction’s reaction to the endorsement, questioning why a party that was initially formed to oppose the Marcos rule is now endorsing his son.
Mayor Isko Moreno said that he will just let the people be the judge of this. “It’s not for me to judge them on their position but I agree with you that this party was formed to fight the dictatorship. Let the people judge if that is right, just or morally acceptable,” the presidential aspirant said.
