Isko Moreno wants Charges Filed Vs. Candidates Who Pay Campaign Event Attendees

Mayor Isko Moreno Speaks Some Campaign Event Issues

ISKO MORENO – The Manila Mayor and presidential candidate wants charges to be filed against bets who pay the attendees of their campaign events.

Currently, there are only 51 days left before the campaign period for the May 2022 Elections is over. The presidential bets together with their running-mates and the members of their senate slate are busy traveling from one province to another in the pursuit to reach as many Filipinos as they can to campaign.

Previously, there were reports of grand rallies gathering thousands of attendees. However, there are also issues and accusations that some attendees of the campaign events like political rallies and motorcades were paid to participate.

Amid the issues, Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer and incumbent Manila Mayor Isko Moreno expressed his hope that the candidates who are paying their campaign event attendees will be charged.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, in a chance interview in Kawit, Cavite, Mayor Isko Moreno stressed that the fact that soliciting votes through giving money or exchanging votes with something being against the law is very clear. He urged his supporters not to give incentives to other people in recruiting more attendees for him.

“Wag natin papuntahin ang tao for a fee. Gusto ko pumunta sila dahil baka interesado silang pakinggan tayo,” the Manila Mayor said.

Mayor Isko is pushing for his call “switch to Isko” through meeting the people in smaller fragments. He wants to visit different barangays and areas to see and meet different people. Being on the 3rd spot in the results of the February survey of Pulse Asia, the Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer is not bothered with it. According to him, he is happy for those who enjoy the numbers of surveys but, for him, the smiles of the people he meets outweigh the numbers.
