PAGASA Says PH Expects Fair Friday Weather But Potential LPA May Form This Weekend

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (March 4)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that fair weather is expected today but potential low-pressure area may form this weekend.

On Friday (March 4, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies will affect the countries weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the easterlies will be affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The Localized Thunderstorms are expected to bring similar weather condition over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

A low pressure area (LPA) may develop east of the Philippines during the weekend. It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone but it is expected to pass across the Philippine Sea and near the Visayas and Mindanao.

“Base sa tropical cyclone threat potential forecast ng Pagasa, gayundin sa pinapakita ng ibang models, possible po na may mabuong isang LPA this weekend somewhere dito sa may Philippine boundary,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

“Sa ating mga kababayan po doon, mag-ingat sa mga pag-ulan, light to moderate with at times heavy rains, simula this weekend until early next week. Mag-ingat po sa posibleng pagbaha at landslides at mag-antabay sa updates ng Pagasa,” Estareja added.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the remaining parts of the Philippines will be slight to moderate.
