PAGASA Says LPA’s Trough to Affect of PH Weather Condition

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the trough or extension of a low pressure area will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (March 1, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA’s trough would affect the country’s weather condition.

The trough of the LPA outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains over some regions in the country. The low-pressure area is not expected to enter the country’s vicinity.

“Itong lPA na ito ay hindi natin inaasahang papasok o lalapit pa sa ating Philippine area of responsibility. Sa kasalukuyan ay wala rin po tayong namamataan na sama ng panahon na maaaring magkaroon ng direct effect dito sa ating bansa,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda.

The LPA’s trough will bring cloudy condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Palawan and Caraga.

The easterlies / localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Abra and Benguet.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to experience similar weather condition.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over eastern section of central and southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. Slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions are expected over Northern Luzon as well as the remaining parts of the country.
