PAGASA Says Shear Line & Amihan to Affect PH Weather

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the shear line and northeast monsoon will bring overcast skies and rains over parts of the country.

On Thursday (February 24, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line and amihan will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the shear line will be affecting the eastern sections of southern Luzon and the Visayas while the northeast monsoon will affect northern and central Luzon.

“Dahil dito asahan ang maulap na kalangitan na may pag-ulan sa malaking bahagi ng Bisayas at gano’n din sa Luzon,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The trough of Low Pressure Area/shear line will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.

Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, and Aurora.

The northeast monsoon is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of central Luzon.

Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country will experience similar weather condition with localized thunderstorms.

The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern and central Luzon as well as eastern sections of southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country is expected to experience slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
