PAGASA: LPA’s Trough to Bring Cloudy Skies w/ Scattered Rainshowers Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (February 19)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the LPA’s trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (February 19, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather updates in the country. The trough of a low-pressure area would affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon. The trough or extension of Low Pressure Area will be affecting Mindanao.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated light rains over provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya and Aurora.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and central Luzon will experience similar weather condition. The easterlies / localized thunderstorm would bring the same weather over Visayas and the rest of Luzon.

The LPA’s trough will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Mindanao.

“Sa area ng Mindanao, possible silang makaranas ng makulimlim na panahon na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at pagkidlat, pagkulog dahil sa trough ng LPA sa labas ng Philippine area of responsibility,” Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said.

The weather agency warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over extreme northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country would have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
