PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (February 22)

PAGASA Says LPA’s Trough & Shear Line to Affect PH Weather

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the trough of LPA and shear line will prevail over most parts of the country.

On Tuesday (February 22, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line and LPA’s extension would affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Visayas while the Northeast Monsoon would affect Luzon and the rest of Visayas. Davao Region, Caraga, Samar, Eastern Samar and Northern Samar will experience cloudy condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with rains over the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora.

Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated light rains over Batanes, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Apayao.

Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and the rest of Visayas as well as rest of Mindanao will experience similar weather condition.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms and due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

“Ito pong low pressure area na ito ay makikita natin na hindi lalapit sa ating kalupaan o area of responsibility, pero asahan natin na magdudulot ito ng pag-ulan sa bahagi ng Mindanao,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon, eastern section of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea condition.
