PATCH MAGTANONG – These beauty queens proved that being a beauty queen is not just about good looks and perfect walks.
Whenever we face legal problems, we always seek the help of a lawyer and it is important to know that there’s a certain kind of lawyer for a specific legal dilemma. And being a lawyer doesn’t mean you get to enclose yourself in that certain field. In the field of beauty pageants, empowered women such as having that profession have already joined.
These lawyer beauty queens did not join just for the sake of showing off their good looks but to raise awareness on certain issues. These empowered women from various fields proved that beauty alone cannot make a beauty queen.
Here are some beauty queens who are lawyers or law students:
- Anna Theresa Licaros – The Miss Photogenic of Miss Universe 2007. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a general weighted average (GWA) of 1.61 at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. She pursued law right after and finished salutatorian at the University of Philippines College of Law.
- Bea Patricia Magtanong aka Patch Magtanong – She joined Miss International 2019 representing Philippines. She has a degree in Business Economics at the University of Philippines and pursued law in the same institution.
- Karla Bautista-Siao – She was Miss World 2004 Queen of Asia and Oceana and becoming a beauty queen is her mother’s wish. She is now a mother of three kids.
- Casie Banks – Apart from being a model, she was also crowned Miss World Philippines 2019 – 2nd Princess. She achieved a degree in Philosophy at the University of Santo Tomas and currently taking up law at De La Salle University.
- Eva Patalinjug – She is famous in the beauty pageant field and have titles like Miss Grand Philippines 2018, Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014, Miss Mandaue 2013 second runner up, Miss CVRAA 2008, and Miss Palarong Pambansa 2008 under her belt. She is a law student and now a mother one.
- Jerelleen Rodriguez – She graduated cum laude with a degree in Business Administration and Accountancy at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. She won Binibining Pilipinas 2018, Miss World Nasugbu Batangas, and Miss United Continents Filipinas 2018. She is currently a professor at UP and accountant and pursuing Law at the University of the Philippines College of Law.
