“Unbothered” – Toni Gonzaga remains firm supporting BBM amid criticisms over her choice of presidential candidate.
TONI GONZAGA – Many people online expressed dismay and disappointment over Toni Gonzaga’s decision to support BBM.
In a previous article, Kapamilya multimedia star Toni Gonzaga was spotted rehearsing to host the proclamation rally of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos and vice-presidential aspirant Sara Duterte on February 8. The well-known multi-awardee host was put under hot waters just right after her husband Paul Soriano created a buzz weeks ago.
Amid the critical comment thrown at her for her choice of political candidates to support, she received both applause and bashes on different social media platforms. And on February 8, thousands of Filipinos have showed up and filled the giant Philippine Arena in Bulacan. The whole venue was filled with shouts and cheers for the dictator’s son.
“Tapos na, may nanalo na, tapos ang laban. Buhay na buhay ang pagmamahal kay Apo Lakay Ferdinand Marcos,” expressed Gonzaga as she was welcomed by these loud cheers. To recall, BBM’s father, convicted dictator Ferdinand Marcos, was also the one who closed down ABS-CBN, her home network, during Martial Law in the 1970s.
As much as many people are aware, Marcos Jr. was a wedding sponsor or “ninong” of Gonzaga and her husband in 2015. Also, what many people online highlighted during the proclamation rally was when Toni introduced Marcoleta, the one who closed her home network last 2020 despite the fact that the network did not violate any law when they applied for franchise renewal.
Apart from Gonzaga, celebrities like Ynez Veneracion, Njel de Mesa, Karla Estrada,D ulce, Robert Seña, Isay Alvarez, Wency Cornejo, and Randy Santiago were also present.
