PAGASA Says Shear Line to Bring Rainshowers in Most Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (January 28)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the shear line is expected to bring rainshowers over most parts of the country.

On Friday (January 28, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the shear line or tail-end of a cold front will be affecting northern Luzon while the Low Pressure Area (LPA) has been spotted at 190 km South Southwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

The shear line may bring rain showers over Northern Luzon while Central Luzon down to the Mindanao regions will be affected by the easterlies.

The shear line is expected to bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Abra, Benguet and Aurora.

The localized thunderstorms/easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rains over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, entire Visayas and Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms and moderate to at times heavy rains.

The weather bureau also claimed that no storms is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility until the end of January.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
