PAGASA Says LPA & Shear Line to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Condition Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (January 26)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area and the shear line will bring cloudy to rainy condition over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (January 26, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and the shear line will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted in the vicinity of Tayasan, Negros Oriental.

The LPA is expected to bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Quezon, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan.

The northeast monsoon will also bring similar weather condition over Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora. Possible flash floods or landslides during to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The localized thunderstorms would bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms over rest of Mindanao. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

Similar weather condition is expected over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of Luzon, according to the weather bureau. The LPA is expected to leave PAR by Thursday or Friday.

“Nananatili pa rin na mababa ang tsansang maging bagyo itong LPA at inaasahan na ito ay kikilos pakanluran. After sa Western Visayas, dadaan ang LPA sa Sulu Sea at tatawid sa Palawan, at inaasahan na lalabas ng PAR ang LPA pagdating ng Thursday or Friday,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northen Luzon and the eastern section of central and southern Luzon as well as eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough.

Slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions are expected over the remaining parts of the country.
