PAGASA: Amihan to Bring Cloudy Condition w/ Scattered Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (January 5)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon would bring cloudy condition with scattered rains over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (January 5, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy weather condition with light rains over Ilocos, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora and the northern portion of Quezon.

The easterlies and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) would also bring similar weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Southern Palawan.

The entire Visayas, the rest of Mindanao and Palawan would also experience the same weather condition.

The amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Provinces, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and the northern portion of Quezon as well as the rest of Luzon.

“Umiiral pa din ang northeast monsoon. Ngayon ay buong Luzon lang ang naaapektuhan nito, easterlies naman ang nakakaapekto sa buong bansa,” PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio.

The weather agency has also warned the public for possible flashfloods and landslides during severe thunderstorms in the affected areas.

PAGASA also raised gale warning associated with northeast monsoon over eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon and Visayas, eastern seaboard of Mindanao and northern seaboard of northern Luzon as well as the eastern seaboard of Northern and Central Luzon.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and remaining parts of the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
