Duterte to Reveal Secret Candidate of Marcos Jr. Disqualified Says Trillanes
Senatorial aspirant Antonio Trillanes IV revealed that President Rodrigo Duterte has a “secret candidate” if Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is disqualified.
In an interview with Ina Andolong and Michael Fajatin on “Politiskoop,” the former senator revealed that if the Marcos are effectively eliminated from the presidential campaign, President Duterte will use his trump card. He stated that if his assertions were rejected, it meant Duterte and Marcos were allies.
“Sa Comelec, dito natin makikita kung sino ang admin candidate. Kung madi-disqualify si Bongbong Marcos ng Comelec, ibig sabihin hindi sumapi sila Duterte. Ibig sabihin nun mayroon silang secret candidate,” said Trillanes
“Pero kung hindi siya i-disqualify, it’s either neutral sila o nagsanib-puwersa sila kay Bongbong Marcos so ‘yung disqualification case ni Bongbong Marcos actually is the ultimate manifestation kung nasaan si Duterte,” the former senator added.

Another disqualification petition was filed against Marcos Jr. with the Commission on Elections on Thursday. The current disqualification case against Marcos Jr. cited his 1995 conviction for failing to file his income tax returns, as did earlier disqualification petitions.
Akbayan First Nominee Perci Cendaa and former Commission on Human Rights Chairperson Etta Rosales were among the petition’s signatories. This is Marcos Jr.’s eighth disqualification petition before the Comelec.
Meanwhile, Trillanes belittled the formation of a coalition of four major parties to back Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio in the 2022 elections. The Duterte-Carpio, Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo, former senator Jinggoy Estrada, and Marcos Jr. are now in the UniTeam Alliance.
