MISS UNIVERSE – These are the breakup stories of these former Miss Universe Philippines winners after winning the prestigious title.

People have already seen the obvious pattern in the love lives of our present and past winners of the Miss Universe Philippines crown – it always ens up with a breakup. The breakup happens shortly after winning the prestigious title and oftentimes, what has ended was a long-term relationship. Just recently, the 2021 winner Beatrice Gomez and her DJ girlfriend confirmed their breakup.

MIRIAM QUIAMBAO & MARTIN BERNARDO – They broke up after Quiambao won 1st runner-up. The 48th edition was held at Trinidad and Tobago last May 26, 1999.

JANINE TUGONON & JAYPEE SANTOS – Tugonon is the country’s delegate for the 61st edition which was held in Las Vegas, Nevada last December 19, 2012. She was, at first, firm that their relationship is not going to end as it would be her loss but it still did. Santos clarified before that their split is not because there’s another guy.

CATRIONA GRAY & CLINT BONDAD – Gray announced their split after she won the 67th Miss U crown held in Bangkok, Thailand on December 17, 2018. They have been together for six years. Currently, Cat is in a relationship and happy with actor Boyfriend Sam Milby.

RABIYA MATEO & NEIL SALVACION – MUPH 2020 also did not dodge the curse. She once said in an interview that she can make a man stay and she promised him that she will not leave him after winning. Unfortunately, just right after her stint in the international pageant, they announced their split.
