Why this comment of Kim Atienza went controversial?
Mars Pa More host Kim Atienza shared this comment and this garnered speculations that he was referring to his former show It’s Showtime.
Kuya Kim wrote the said controversial comment on the post of his co-host Camille Prats. The former child actress proudly shared the post of her older brother John Prats, who is now one of the directors of the long-running Kapamilya series Ang Probinsyano.
John also started directing the Kapamilya noontime show this year and he has introduced new segments, as well as new styles.
In a recent social media post of the actor-director, he expressed how grateful he is to be directing the TV series of Coco Martin, especially that Megastar Sharon Cuneta has joined the cast.
As a proud sister, Camille Prats shared this career milestone of her brother and her post received a reaction from Kim Atienza. Reportedly, the original comment of Kuya Kim was, “Nothing is an accident mars Camille. (smiley face emoji) Galing ni Lord no? Iniwas siya sa sakit ng ulo. (smiley face emoji).”
In the edited version, the phrase “Iniwas siya sa sakit ng ulo” was deleted. Because of this, speculations surfaced that he was throwing shade at his former show.
On Twitter, Kim Atienza explained why he commented that way. He said that as a friend of former It’s Showtime director Bobet Vidanes, he knows how difficult it is to have this job. To recall, Direk Bobet, who is now part of TV5’s Lunch Out Loud, said that the working environment in the Kapamilya noontime show was not healthy anymore for his mental state.
The Kapuso host also stressed that he did not mean any negative with what he said. “I didn’t mean anything negative w my comment. Being a friend of Direk Bobet, I know how difficult it is to direct a live show. Masakit talaga sa ulo, multitasking w a skeleton crew etc. I love my showtime family and will never say anything bad about them. Be safe everyone,” he said.
