Here’s what Ping Lacson and Tito Sotto said about the changes in politics
Senator Ping Lacson and Senate President Tito Sotto shared their reaction to the recent developments in the political scene in the Philippines.
These past few days before the final day of the filing for the withdrawal of certificate of candidacy, as well as substation, several changes happened. Politicians aspiring for national positions withdrew and some filed COC for a different position.
In line with this, Sen. Ping Lacson, who is running for president expressed that they are nonchalant towards this issue. Based on the report from Inquirer, the presidential aspirant said that their focus is on their platform.
“Kami ni Senate President (We are), very consistent kami rito (here). We don’t comment on our potential rivals in the May 2022 elections. Ang pokus lang namin (Our focus) is to present ourselves, our platforms, ‘yung aming (our) roadmap in the next six years,” Lacson said.
For Tito Sotto, it is not a matter of who is running because they are confident about their programs to address the problems that the country is facing. “We have decided as early as June, July this year that our programs and platforms are the answers to the problems of the country. It does not matter to us who else is running. That has been our formula, noon pa man hanggang ngayon,” the Senate President said. He added that they are sure of their measures and they are aware of the problems and the solutions.
This past weekend, Senator Bong Go filed his COC for President while Senator Bato Dela Rosas withdrew his presidential candidacy. President Rodrigo Duterte hinted that he is running for vice president and even said that he might file his COC on Monday.
