As the new director of the Kapamilya noontime show, John Prats introduced new things
Actor-director John Prats shared the effect that he saw when he brought some changes on the set of Kapamilya noontime show It’s Showtime.
From being a child star, John became one of the teen artists of ABS-CBN who brought “kilig” to young female fans. Then, he eventually ventured on more mature roles until he was given a chance to do his first stint as a director.
Based on the article in The Philippine Star, back in 2002, John Prats was already introduced to the job behind the camera. He shared that when he was shooting for Jologs, director Gilbert Perez already told him that he should study how to be a director and learn about the shots. John was just 19 years old back then.
In 2014, he has already started directing for events handled by his father’s company that organizes various events. Now, he is the director of It’s Showtime and the hosts, as well as the audience, have noticed the changes he brought to the show.
John introduced the segment Madlang Pi-Poll which is the first interactive segment on the show. Reportedly, on the day it was launched, 45,000 viewers joined.
The director said that the viewers can expect more changes in the future. He added that they are currently working on this to provide entertainment to the audience during noontime hours.
Then, she shared that even the artists in the show were surprised by the changes he made and this is fulfilling for him. “There was a time I went to the live set early and we rehearsed the lights. When we did it on the show, nagulat lahat. I just love the feeling that I keep on surprising all the artists and capturing that raw feeling. Iba ‘yun,” John Prats said.
He added that they told them that he will really work hard for the show and he is thankful that he was embraced by them wholeheartedly.
