The case investigator, Master Sergeant Alwin Laurente, said they received a call regarding the event and responded right away to check the report. A sliver of steel was purportedly discovered in a videoke bar by an eight-year-old during the initial examination.

He apparently played with the item he found in the videoke bar, unaware that it was a grenade, with his teammates, who were also unaware that it was an explosive. The device was a 40 mm grenade, which is frequently seen at the height of a high-powered automatic rifle or “grenade launcher,” according to the bomb squad.

While playing, the children may have accidentally set off a grenade, causing them to be injured. The injured were brought to Baybay City’s Immaculada Conception Hospital.

Meanwhile, authorities recovered and found the remains of 2 minors hugging after they allegedly died when the fire caught their house in Caloocan City. During the fire that broke out recently on Ilang Ilang Street, Barangay 185, North Caloocan, destroying 15 homes and displacing about 50 residents, a seven-year-old and a one-year-old kid were killed.
