Manny Pacquiao released this statement about his meeting with the President
The two national government officials “renewed their friendship” after they exchanged fiery words against each other. Senator Bong Go shared that he was the one who requested the meeting.
Pacquiao and Duterte talked about the developments that could be done in Mindanao. Go also said that there was no politics involved in the said “friendly talk”.
On Thursday, Sen. Manny Pacquiao released a clarification about the meeting he had with the President. He said that he is not retracting and that he will continue his fight, based on the Twitter post of ABS-CBN reporter Sherrie Ann Torres.
“Walang atrasan. Tuloy ang laban,” the Senator who is one of the presidential aspirant stressed. Pacquiao also clarified that it was not a political meeting. On the other hand, that gave them the opportunity to talk about the common aspiration that they have for their region.
“Hindi nagbabago ang paninindigan ko sa pagtakbo bilang Pangulo,” the lawmaker said. He also reiterated that he would fight corruption and improve the lives of the led fortunate Filipinos. “Hindi ako trapo mag-isip. Ang panalo ko ang magpapanalo sa buhay ng bawat Pilipino,” Pacquiao added.
Meanwhile, Deputy House Speaker Lito Atienza, the running mate of Manny Pacquiao expressed confidence that the Senator will win by landslide. Atienza said that he does not believe the surveys because of the alleged money matter behind this.
The party-list representative also said that he witnessed how warm the people when showing support for the boxer-turned-politician. “I think people will realize a big surprise on Election Day: Manny Pacquiao with a landslide,” the former Manila Mayor said.
