PAGASA Says ITCZ & Northeasterly Surface Windflow to Affect PH Weather

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the ITCZ and northeasterly surface windflow would bring scattered rain showers over some parts of the country.

On Monday (October 25, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update. The intertropical convergence zone and the northeasterly surface windflow would affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Northeasterly Surface Windflow would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, and Aurora.

The ITCZ would also experience similar weather condition over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Ifugao, Abra, Mountain Province, Apayao and Kalinga.

The localized thunderstorms would bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms is expected over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Ifugao, Abra, Mountain Province, Apayao and Kalinga.

The remaining parts of the country would have the same weather condition. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over Northern Luzon would be moderate to rough. The rest of the country would have slight to moderate surrounding sea condition.

“Inaasahang magiging maalon hanggang sa napakaalon ‘yung mga bahaging ito. Hanggat maari ‘wag muna pumalaot ‘yung mga kababayan nating mangingisda at ‘yung may mga maliit na sasakyang pandagat,” Pagasa weather specialist Chris Perez said.

The weather agency is also monitoring a tropical depression and a tropical storm outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. The tropical depression has been last located 460 km west northwest of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 km.
