Here is the latest update about the viral kariton vendor who attends online class while selling fruits in Marulas, Valenzuela City.
A few months ago, a 34-year-old netizen named Benj Gonzales has shared the inspiring photos of a street vendor who sells fruit while attending his online class. The post earns praises and admiration from the netizens.
Gonzales is supposed to buy a fruit for his pregnant wifebut the price of the fruits are too expensive. He looked for cheaper fruits outside and accidentally met a Grade 9 student selling fruits while attending his online classes in December 2020.
The netizen noticed the vendor identified as Mike using a laptop while selling his products in Marulas Public Market Valenzuela City. He also saw Mike attending his modules while using its phone’s hotspot for internet access.
Mike is a Grade 9 student in Valenzuela National High school. He is doing his best to pursue his studies despite the hardships of life amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Last Friday (October 15, 2021), Benj gives further updates regarding the life of Mike as a vendor and student. Gonzales revealed that he and the vendor have frequent contact with each other after their first meet.

The customer also became friends with the hardworking student’s parents who were selling vegetables. He posted the photos of Mike to inspire other students and encourage them to study well.
“Naging suki po niya ako. Nag-aaral pa rin siya, Naging kaibigan ko na din ang mga magulang niya. Sa kanila ako palagi bumibili ng gulay at prutas, Yung mga magulang nya nagtitinda din ng gulay at kung anu-anong divisoria items, yung mga tig-PHP10, PHP20, mga ganun,” Gonzales said quoted by PEP.
