Based on the report from Inquirer, Lacson’s second meeting with Robredo, along with his running mate Tito Sotto, had a negative impression for him. He said that the VP was with Senator Franklin Drilon during the second meeting.

“Tinuro niya si VP Leni saka si Senate President Sotto na sila yung magka-tandem in my face. It’s good that I did not notice it. I was only informed by the SP after our meeting. Sabi niya ‘Di mo ba napansin? Na yung dalawang daliri ni Frank nakaturo sa aming dalawa,’” Ping Lacson said adding that it is like saying that he has to withdraw in order to give way for the Robredo-Sotto tandem.

Lacson also said that if he had witnessed that gesture of Drilon, he would have reacted immediately or that could prompt him to walk out of the meeting right away. “When I was told [about] that. I felt insulted, had I noticed that when it happened I could’ve have stood up and left that meeting,” the presidential aspirant shared.

He added that no one can dictate him to withdraw as he will be the one who will decide when it comes to this matter. Lacson also stressed that he and Sotto are at the point of no return already as many groups and individuals already showed support for them.

“At this point in time, I don’t think we can still entertain the thought of withdrawing in favor of [someone else],” Ping Lacson said. Based on the report, when Senator Drilon was asked about this statement of Lacson, he said that he does not recall those hand gestures.
