PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (September 11)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported the latest update about Typhoon Kiko and signal no. 4 has been raised over two areas.
On Saturday (September 11, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update. Typhoon Kiko will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.
Typhoon Kiko has maximum sustained winds of 215 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 265 kph and moving 15 kph at a northwestward direction. It has been last located at 75 kilometers south of Basco, Batanes.
Kiko would bring stormy weather condition over Batanes and the northeastern portion of Cagayan including Babuyan Islands brought. Possible flash floods or landslides during heavy to intense rains.
The tropical cyclone is also expected to bring rains and gusty winds over Ilocos Norte, Apayao, the rest of Cagayan, Abra, Kalinga, and the northern portion of Isabela. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected due to moderate to heavy rains.
The typhoon enhances the southwest monsoon that would bring monsoon rains over Metro Manila, the rest of Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon within the next 24 hours.
Kiko and the habagat would bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas while the rest of Visayas and Mindanao would experience similar weather condition due to localized thunderstorms.
The weather disturbance is expected to weaken later today or tomorrow (September 12). Sea venture remains risky due to the effects of the typhoon on the country’s coastal water condition.
