123-Year-Old Pinay Francisca Susano’s Daughter Becomes Centenarian After Reaching Age of 101

The daughter of 123-year-old Filipina Francisca Susano has also become a centenarian after reaching the age of 101.

Lola Francisca Susano of Puerto Princesa, Palawan has been dubbed as the oldest person living in the Philippines at the age of 123 years old. She would turn 124 on September 11 surpassing the oldest person to have lived longest is Jeanne Calment at the age of 122.

Susano has been born in Oringao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental but eventually moved to Palawan. She was born before the declaration of Philippine Independence in 1898 and witnessed several events in the world history.

Lola Francisca survived the smallpox pandemic of the 1900s, cholera epidemic of 1905, the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918 and currently witnessing the COVID-19 pandemic. At her old age, she can still speak fluently, walk and play harmonica.

The supercentenarian revealed that she eats a lot of vegetables and little bit of meat but she do not eat pork. She said that her healthy diet, abstinence from alcohol and positive outlook in life contributes to her long life.

The elderly woman is among the 30 oldest people in the world. She had 14 kids and eight of them are still alive. Her daughter Magdalena is already a centenarian too after reaching the age of 101.

The 123-year-old Pinay grandma has witnessed the administration 16 Philippine president since the start of former President Emilio Aguinaldo’s regime until the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte.
