The holder of the title as the world’s oldest living person is Emma Morano of Italy who was born on November 29, 1899.

Susano, known as Lola Isca to her family and relatives, was born on September 11, 1897 in Kabankalan City. This is according to her birth records.

She married at the age of 14 and had 14 children.

Today, she has eight surviving sons and daughters. The oldest of them is 96 years old Magdalena. Next to her is 84 years old Ernesto.

Lola Isca is living with Ernesto at Brgy. Oringao, Kabankalan City, with his wife and children.

He leaves Lola Isca at home where playing music instrument entertains her while her son is away.

Lola Isca also shared that she did not go to school because her parents did not allow them.

She doesn’t eat meal without vegetables like squash, eggplant and gabi, except on those times that they don’t have something to buy rice for food.

As of now, Lola Isca can’t count her great-great-grandchildren anymore. But she has almost 200 grandchildren scattered in Negros Occidental, Metro Manila and Palawan.

On November 2, 2015, Lola Isca received P100-K from the provincial government of Negros Occidental during the Negros First Centenarians Day, through the Negros First Centenarians Ordinance of the province.

On May 2016, former President Benigno Aquino III signed Centenarians Act of 2016 into law. By this, Lola Isca will receive another P100-K from the national government.
