Elderly Ice Cream Vendor in Bulacan Works Hard Despite Old Age
An elderly ice cream vendor from San Jose del Monte, Bulacan continues to work hard despite her old age just to earn money.
A 73-year-old woman identified as Angeles Merin earns praises and admiration from the online community for working hard despite her old age, Lola Angeles continue to sell ice cream to provide the financial necessities of her family.
The senior citizen also served as a breadwinner for her family. She is roaming around in different villages just to sell ice creams. Her husband and child could not work due to their illnesses.
Lola Angeles’s husband suffered stroke a few years ago while her daughter could not work due to an illness. The vendor’s son-in-law is a stroke survivor and could not work anymore because of his condition.
However, the grandma vendor admits that she is experiencing hardships and difficulties for working despite her old age. She is enduring everything just to make money for her family.
“Mahirap magtinda ng ice cream dahil bukod sa ikot ka nang ikot sa malayo, mabigat pa ‘yung dala mo. Kaya lang tinitiis ko na lang ‘yan kasi ‘yan lang naman ang pinagkakakitaan ko,” Merin said.
The elderly ice cream vendor revealed that she is suffering from “pilay” after she slipped while selling ice creams.
The super lola also received grocery products and goodies from “Unang Hirit”, which is a great help for her family.
