53-Year-Old Stroke Survivor Working as Walking Hotdog Vendor Despite Health Condition Earns Praises Online

A 53-year-old stroke survivor is enduring the hardships of being a walking hotdog vendor despite his health condition just to support wife’s medication.

A middle-aged man identified as Bobby Espino goes viral and garnered praises and admiration from the online community because of his determination and perseverance in life despite his health condition.

Mang Bobby is roaming around the streets of Makati while carrying over 9.5 kilograms of portable kitchen, hotdogs, breads and sauce. The old man is traveling at least three hours just to sell his hotdog products.

Walking Hotdog Vendor

The hardworking man is a stroke survivor who had no job during the coronavirus pandemic. He was hired by a private company for the “Walking Hotdog Project” as a traveling vendor. He is traveling all the way from Caloocan heading to Makati City.

The hotdog vendor is selling the hotdogs for P10.00 per piece, which gives him an income to support the financial necessities of his family and medication of his beloved wife suffering from pneumonia.

“Hindi ko rin alam [kung paano ko kinakaya]. Basta ang alam ko, gawin ko lang ang kaya ko,” Mang Bobby said.

The vendor received groceries and goods from kind-hearted netizens as a surprise. Aside from goods, he also received a brand new laptop for his kid’s online education.

Aside from being a stroke survivor, Tatay Bobby has diabetes and hypertension. He needs maintenance medicines for his illnesses. The man first suffered stroke in 2017.
