PAGASA Says ITCZ to Affect PH Weather, 2 to 3 Tropical Cyclones Expected This Month

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update For Wednesday (September 1)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the intertropical convergence zone would bring cloudy and rainy weather condition over parts of the Philippines.

On Wednesday (September 1, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather condition. The ITCZ would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the ITCZ would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected over Central and Western Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.


Metro Manila, Western and Central Visayas, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Aurora and Northern Samar would also experience similar weather conditions.

The weather system would also bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas. The localized thunderstorms would bring fair weather with isolated rain showers over the remaining parts of the country.

The weather disturbance may trigger possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. The residents in the affected areas were advised to take precautionary measures.


“Ngayong araw po dahil sa ITCZ, asahan ang makulimlim na panahon sa halos buong Southern Luzon, kasama na rin dyan ang Metro Manila at Aurora,” weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

Estareja also reported that no weather disturbances are expected to affect the country’s weather condition over the next three days. The coastal water conditions over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao would be slight to moderate.

The weather agency said that two to three tropical cyclones are expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility during this month of September.
