PAGASA Says ITCZ to Bring Cloudy and Rainy Conditions Today

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone would bring cloudy to rainy conditions over some parts of the country.

On Friday (August 27, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The ITCZ would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms over Central Visayas, Western Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the provinces of Isabela, Aurora, Bulacan, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi would experience similar weather conditions.

Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over the rest of Visayas due to the ITCZ. The remaining parts of the country would have the same weather condition.

 “Sa kasalukuyan, ang malaking bahagi ng bansa ay nakakaranas ng maulap na kalangitan pati mga pag-ulan dahil sa epekto ng ITCZ o intertropical convergence zone,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The weather agency advised the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA also reported that no tropical cyclones are expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next few days.

The surrounding sea conditions over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao would be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau. No gale warning has been raised in any parts of the country.
