PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (August 24)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the ITCZ would bring cloudy to rainy weather condition over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (August 24, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The intertropical convergence zone would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the ITCZ would bring cloudy condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

Visayas, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands as well as Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga would also experience similar weather conditions

Fair weather conditions are also expected over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country but the isolated thunderstorms may bring possible rain showers.

“Intertropical Convergence Zone ang dominanteng weather system ngayon sa bansa, at nakakaapekto yan sa Katimugang Luzon, buong Kabisayaan at sa hilagang bahagi ng Mindanao,” weather specialist Loriedin Dela Cruz said.

The weather agency also advised the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms due to the effects of the intertropical convergence zone.

“Dulot ho niyan ay mga pag-ulang nararanasan sa ilang bahagi ng bansa, kasama na rin ho riyan ang maulap na papawirin,” Dela Cruz added.

The coastal water condition over western section of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao as well as the rest of the country would be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
