Lucy Torres talked about the political aspect of her life
Leyte 4th District Representative Lucy Torres revealed during a recent interview how politics has changed her as a person.
From being a model and actress, Lucy ventured into the world of public service and for several years now, she and her husband Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez have been serving their constituents in Leyte.
Talking to Manila Bulletin, Lucy Torres shared that being in politics helped her when it comes to her personal growth. Doing her responsibility as a public servant, she was able to do things of her own volition.
‘’I used to be this, yes, girl who lived to please everyone. Politics has strengthened my character to be my own person,” the congresswoman said. It is her last term as a representative but there is nothing concrete yet, as of now, regarding her future political plans.
It was said that one of the prominent political parties in the country has invited her to join the senatorial slate. However, Lucy said that there is nothing certain yet about this.
On the other hand, there is one certain thing now, Richard will run for Congress replacing Lucy. Meanwhile, in a previous article, it was stated that the Ormoc City Mayor showed support for his wife if ever she will finally decide to run for Senator in the 2022 elections.
Richard said that to be in a national position is a matter of destiny and being in this arena needs a lot of support from the leaders of the government. However, the actor-politician said that the decision is still in the hands of Lucy Torres if she will accept the offer to run for Senator or not.
