Paolo Contis gets asked about the success of his new Netflix movie
Kapuso actor Paolo Contis shared that when the story of A Faraway Land was presented to him, he immediately said to himself that he got to do this project.
The said Netflix movie is about a Filipino journalist, played by Paolo, who went to Faroe Island for a documentary about the life of Filipinos there and his subject is the character of Yen.
In a recent interview, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, the actor shared that he easily fell in love with the story. “To be honest, nung piniresent sa akin ‘yung story, sabi ko na I have to do it, I really have to do it,” Paolo Contis shared. However, he said that while they were doing the movie, he did not think of things like it is going to be a hit and it will be big.
On the other hand, although he did not say that it will be a hit, during the preview, he burst a comment saying “Napakaganda!” The actor added that, after all, it is their goal to create a beautiful movie and they are somehow hoping that it will be a hit.
“And I’m very blessed that we were number one right away. Then, kumbaga validation lang ‘yun na tama ‘yung ginawa namin, sulit ang pinagpaguran namin, lahat ng bagyong inabot namin. Lahat ng nginig namin sa Faroe Islands. Sulit lahat!” he said.
Meanwhile, Paolo Contis also shared how it was working with Yen Santos who is from the Kapamilya network. He said that he is glad that there is a platform where artists from different networks can work together as in reality, there is no “network war” between them.
Paolo also said nice words about his leading lady in the movie. He said that Yen is easy to work with and that she radiated her happiness to everyone on the set.
