Veteran entertainment columnist Lolit Solis received negative comments after she shared about the civil wedding of celebrity couple Angel Locsin and Neil Arce.
The initial plan of Angel and Neil was that their wedding was supposed to happen in November last year but this did not push through due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On August 7, they surprised many of their fans when they announced that they already tied a knot in a civil wedding ceremony that was officiated by Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano.
The couple received a bunch of sweet messages now that they are officially Mr. and Mrs. Arce. In line with this wedding, Lolit Solis shared her thoughts on her recent Instagram post.
She mentioned that she got amused by the comments of many people on the wedding of Angel and Neil that was unknown to the public. The veteran columnist said that there is a “biruan” about the “diet” that the actress is doing. To recall, Angel shared on her social media account that she is going under a certain healthy diet for her weight loss journey.
“Ang biruan bakit ganuon, akala nila magda-diet lang si Angel para maganda siyang mag walk down the aisle, pero ang nangyari, nag civil wedding na lang kay Mayor Lino Cayetano at biglaan pa at hindi ipinaalam,” Lolit said.
She added that the couple said before that they wanted to share with many people their special day as this is an extra special event for Angel because she wasn’t able to have a debut party when she turned 18.
“Baka daw nahirapan mag diet at mukhang matagal bago pumayat, kaya bulaga, kasal na lang bigla. Hah hah, joke joke, pero para ngang baka ganuon dahil si Neil mismo ang nagsabi nuon na gusto niya unforgettable ang wedding ni Angel dahil once in a lifetime lang mangyayari,” Lolit Solis wrote.
However, she stressed that it is still the couple’s choice when and where to get married. The columnist also said that perhaps the couple was thinking that it is inappropriate to hold an extravagant party amid the pandemic.
Apparently, this write of Lolit about the Angel-Neil wedding did not sit well with many netizens. They called the veteran columnist “bitter” and accused her of always releasing negative write-ups about Angel.
