Here’s what Robi Domingo said about network switching
Kapamilya host Robi Domingo reacted to the decision of some former Kapamilya stars to transfer to other networks as it has been more than a year of ABS-CBN franchise non-renewal.
Robi is just among many celebrities in the Philippines who were given a chance by the Kapamilya network to earn their stardom. Amid the recent network transfer of several former talents of ABS-CBN, the TV host gave his reaction.
He admitted that he is saddened by the decision of his former colleagues. It is because he will surely miss them. The fact that this happened during the time when they need someone to lean on added to the pain he felt, based on the article in PEP.
“Dapang-dapa na, e. Nakahiga na yung istasyon. Kailangan natin ng mga kamay na maggagarantiya na, ‘Andito kami, di ka namin iiwan,’” Robi Domingo said.
On the other hand, he believes that those who transferred to other networks have their own reasons. “Pero inisip ko na rin, kung nagpaalam naman nang maayos… Marami namang dahilan siguro yung mga lumipat, at may magandang rason kung bakit sila pinayagan. Kung ganun, I have nothing but respect [for them],” the TV host said.
However, Robi stressed that he has a much higher respect for those who remained with their home network. He also expressed admiration to the network’s executive for not hindering the celebrities who decided to transfer.
“Siyempre sa una, sa mga panahon na ipinagkait, napulitika yung prangkisa, di mawawala yung sakit ng pakiramdam. Una lungkot, tapos inis, tapos napunta sa galit. Pero ngayon nandun ako sa lalaban ako hanggang dulo. Naniniwala ako sa serbisyong binibigay ng ABS-CBN,” the TV host shared about what he feels about the recent status of his home network.
Although Robi Domingo did not mention any name, it was known to many that former Kapamilya stars Maja Salvador is now on TV5 while Bea Alonzo, Beauty Gonzalez, Pokwang, and Richard Yap are now contracts stars of GMA-7.
